Come and join the farming community in the Majura Valley for their inaugural Majura Valley Bush Festival.
This will be a day focused on community fun and discovery about the Majura Valley, its Heritage, its farmers, and what they can offer you with a day of farming experiences.
Enjoy the Majura Valley meats as you tuck into a beef or lamb sandwich, taste the Mount Majura wine, or sit down over a Devonshire tea or coffee with the Country Women’s Association. Picnic hampers and rugs are welcome if you choose to bring your own. (However, no alcohol to be brought to the event)
We will have displays of whip cracking, shearing, wood chopping, whip making and saddlery. Children will be able to visit the animal petting farm, or ride on the merry-go-round, or venture onto a hay ride or cob&co coach ride. The equestrian riding will be on throughout the day, or your children may prefer to enjoy a pony ride. Country and folk music will play in the background as you discover the treasures of a time past, with wonderful displays of heritage carriages, the original Canberra Post Office and the Majura Valley heritage church/hall.
